Can I go active and switch my MOS before I leave for BCT?
… I’m currently scheduled to go to Army OSUT on August 26th for 31b (military police). I’m going into the Reserves so I can stay in college, but…
After my freshman year I’m not really feeling college is exactly the best place for me, it kinda boring.
I want to go active duty and reclass to 19d (Cavalry Scout) rather than stay in college.
can I do that before I ship to OSUT or am I basically f***ed?
Get your 31B MOS and then transfer from the Reserves to the Active Duty. Military Police is a good job that can open doors once you get out of the Army. You could also volunteer to deploy once you become a MP so you get some experience, Don’t throw the chance to be an MP.
