Some one plz briefly describe spanish civil war?
plz dont use big words ….nd try to do it in point form…for eg with the hitler regime u would write it like
hitler was an evil dictator
formed a nazi team that killed or prosecuted jews
he was against jews
so yer sumthing like that about the spanish civil war

Heck even the Spanish can’t briefly describe the not so Civil War! There were lots of truly complex issues. However here goes- – - – throughout the early 1930’s there was turmoil in Spain leading to several changes in Government and toying with the Constitution. In January 1936 the election of a largely Leftist Coalition angered the more conservative elements among them the military leaders who staged a revolt in July of 1936 that became a full on Civil War with the forces of the Right/Fascist arrayed against the forces of the Left/Socialist – Communist.
General Francisco Franco proved to be aa far better leader than his oppenents and steered the Fascist/Rightist/Nationalist to victory. It was brutal war. The Spanish tend to be passionate and the war gave them oportunity to vent their frustrations. Franco enlisted the aid of Italy & Germany each of them eager to use Spain to train their pilots in the art of air warfare and among the casualties was Guernica a small town devastated by a bombing riad upon a mostly defenseless town. The war consumed all of 1937 and 1938 ending in January of 1939 wiuth Franco and his Nationalist Forces Victorius. See link below for Guernica.

On the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War Guernica had a population of about 7,000 people. On 26th April 1937, Guernica was bombed by the German Condor Legion. As it was a market day the town was crowded.
The town was first struck by explosive bombs and then by incendiaries. As people fled from their homes they were machine-gunned by fighter planes. The three hour raid completely destroyed the town. It is estimated that 1,685 people were killed and 900 injured in the attack.
General Francisco Franco denied that he had nothing to do with the raid and claimed that the town had been dynamited and then burnt by Anarchist Brigades. After the war a telegram sent from Franco’s headquarters was discovered and revealled that he had asked the German Condor Legion to carry out the attack on Guernica. It is believed that the attack was an attempt to demoralize the Basque people. “”
