African Americans during the Civil War?
I’m doing some research for a re-enactment and I’m going to sew (or attempt anyways lol) my own costume. Can anybody tell me what kinds of cloth that was used for the clothing? I’m thinking maybe cotton, but I’m not sure. Thanks. Pictures, if you can find them would be great!

Presuming you are doing a Union soldier, the 4-button fatigue blouse was dark blue wool flannel. The trousers were a sky-blue kersey wool. You could craft a non-issue shirt (say one from home) that is cotton. The under-drawers were of a cotton canton flannel.
The black dress hat was a wool fur felt, while the fatigue cap featured a dark blue wool flannel body with a leather brim and chinstrap.
