Civil War Period Costumes
Help! Civil War Day Costume Question!?
My school has Civil War Day every year. You are supposed to dress up in period clothing. I found the perfect dress… except it’s strapless, which isn’t within my school’s dress code. Authenticity is stressed, so is there any way I could make the dress still look like it’s from the Civil War but stay within dress code? (cheap would be nice too) Please hurry!
Try to find a chiffon top that coordinates with the dress and wear it under the dress. There were actually dress designs very much like this in that era. Have fun and maybe look for a cute matching parasol to carry (small sun umbrella) or even carry a hand fan if you are being a southern belle. Good luck!! : P
