Collectors Buttons
Recommend to a joystick … play X-Wing Collectors Edition?
I have an old (!) Pentium 233 laptop with Windows 98, a 9-pin connector and a USB 1.0 port, which I got about 5 years back-hand Second. A while later, I bought the Collector's Edition X-Wing (including the B-wing Add-on and TIE Fighter), which I installed successfully, but was never able to play because (1) I do not have a joystick, (2) or an idea, what with what I have to work would, and (3) I was living in a country where they could no longer trust the power supply, let alone the computer supply stores. Now I'm back in civilization (The care-No. 3) and would like to kick some Sith ass, but all of the sale of new joysticks seem to have about 50 keys, and require a large part of the processing Memory function. Wireless is right, and USB 2.0 will not work, so I need to buy somewhat second hand, but (2) still applies … Any ideas? (Better even if you sell one to, stick it on Ebay, and we talk …!)
They came to look for a Microsoft Sidewinder Pro, with either the old game / MIDI port Plug or I'm sure I had a USB version, it will have USB 1.0 port, the nine pin connector on your laptop is almost certainly a serial and I can not remember that all joysticks worked on this type of connection. There used to be available in laptops, "playing cards" for them but are all not to buy a long time. The Software that came with it was very easy and I played through the games you mention a lot. You can problems with USB on Win98 but places so you download and install certain USB support package. If memory serves, it is somewhere on the Win98 disk. best bet is to play dos and end it there, if possible, but then forgot Sidewinders and USB, etc. Nice to see that great games like this to live
