This example has the gilt in all the right places & detail is very

Boston, standing shank loop. This relic will make a super piece to
include in your excavated Civil War display.

backmark. It looks like the other six surrounding it but that's
because I acquired these buttons , which were dug in the same hole off of
one coat. This one has a standup shank, it's a large desirable 23mm
size. It has no pushes or dents and has fine detail. It also
has a fair measure of gilt to the face and the backmark has extra sharp
& crisp detail. This sharp backmark is Macullar, Williams

- PENNSYLVANIA CIVIL WAR BUTTON - For your consideration I am
offering an excavated Pennsylvania cuff button that has lots of gold
finish on the front & very minimal ground action. Has
a stand up shank loop, this example came out of the Petersburg area in
central Virginia. These buttons are very, very hard to
come by. This one had no pushes or dents. It also has some
ground action around the rim, see the pictures for details; around the
other half of the rim looks really tight. This button is still
very sound and solid. It will make a great addition to a Federal
button collection. This button is listed in Albert's Button book
(pg. 226) as PA 18, it's a cuff sized button.
